Learn to Fish on the Niagara River 2023

Last year, the Niagara River Remedial Action Plan (NRRAP) team partnered with Learn to Fish Ontario to help us get kids and adults learning the basics of fishing and enjoying the Niagara River! The event was so much fun that we’re hosting it with Learn to Fish Ontario again this year! Scroll down for more information or register now to attend.

Join us and the experts from Learn to Fish Ontario for a two-hour teaching experience on Saturday, July 8th at 10 am in Fort Erie.

Friendly instructors will explain how to use fishing equipment, share some basic tips about fish identification, and demonstrate how to fish legally, safely, and sustainably. Then, participants will fish the Upper Niagara River shoreline to put their knowledge to use!

Rods, reels, bait, and lifejackets will be provided. A fishing licence is not required for this event because it is free family fishing week in Ontario.
